The tale begins when Oliver, a Japaneese boy, moves to a new city with his mom. Oliver is a natural when it comes to football and he begins to discover his passion for the game. Soon he decides to join the Newppy team whose rival team is Saint Francis which is where he meets the amazing goalie Benji.
This marks the beginning of the many adventures Oliver and his team will have while playing in the city championship and later in the national championship where they will come into contact with rivals such as Mark Lenders, Julian Ross or Phillip Callahan.
BACKGROUND
- The story and characters began with a manga published for the first time in Japan in 1981.
- The incredible success of the comic led to the creation of the animated series in 1983. It first aired in Japan and later all over the world.
- Today the series has established itself as a classic in all its dubbed versions and still attracts thousands of kids worldwide.
